Family camping at Battle Ground State Park

What a great weekend we had! We took our first family camping trip with both boys to Battle Ground Lake State Park and met up with our friends Dustin and Carol. The weather was just perfect. The lake was a bit crowded so only Dustin took a swim.

There were some nice trails for walking on and we took full advantage of that. We saw horse back riders, meadows, and a sign that said coyotes had been spotted there. We even heard the coyotes howling late at night.

Orion did quite well camping. This year he slept inside his own tent, inside the big tent. He liked the confinement and seemed to sleep well. We forgot the tent poles but Daddy and Dustin improvised and it all worked out.

Mommy and Ollie slept in the minivan with one of the seats taken out.

We enjoyed getting to know our friends better and eating lots of smores. Next time we’ll bring the tent poles and we’ll be ready to go!!!
