Well, today was the first day of kindergarten for Orion. It was a lot of build up for quite a bit of let down since there only ended up being 4 kids total in his classroom. Not what we had expected at all.

All summer we had read social stories and books to prepare him for this big move into kindergarten. Then we found out just 3 days before school was starting that the class size was very low and all boys with special needs. Not ideal. Hopefully that will change soon.

It was a hot and bright day. Daddy came home from work to drive Orion to school too. Orion's new classroom is all the way on the other side of the school near the 5th and 6th graders. The bathrooms there are much bigger and scarier for a little 5 year old. Hopefully he will adjust and not be scared.

The good news is that one of his assistant teachers from summer school will be with him in the classroom so at least he will have some familiarity.

I can't believe my baby is in kindergarten. They grow up so fast!
